HCL’s Major Sound Series for the Fall Season culminates in an evening of performances by the three sponsored ensembles on December 8th. Sound Room starts off the showcase followed NBN trio. Good Willsmith closes the night with “set a huge unbelievably big goal using the pyramid,” a multi-story structured improvisation that harnesses HCL’s full sonic and physical capabilities. With each musician stranded on a separate floor, the band’s solo outputs cohere into layered drones and overtones perhaps best experienced in zones between zones.
